September 30: Tammy Clark, UT’s Chief Information Security Officer, explains what we need to know about information security

The UT-ACM Club welcomes Ms. Tammy Clark on September 30 @ 4-5pm in East Walker Hall, Room 112.

‘That was Then, This is Now…’

The presentation will take a look back at the amazing pace and explosive growth of technology over the past ten years…  The world we live in today is so different from a decade ago—more than ever, privacy and information security are critical concerns for all of us.  What’s the outlook going forward?  Learn (and discuss) how you can protect your ‘digital footprint or identity’ from being compromised and explore trends and issues around information security.

 

Tammy Clark

Tammy Clark was hired in September 2012 as Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Tampa.  Tammy works for President Vaughn and heads up the Office of Information Security.  She is quickly ramping up a robust and effective information security program at UT,  based on the ISO 27000/NIST standards and controls–prioritized around risks and vulnerabilities affecting University data repositories and  IT resources, with emphasis on security awareness training.  Prior to coming to UT, she developed an information security program from ‘ground zero’ and served as Chief Information Security Officer at Georgia State University from 2000-2012.  She’s been a member of the EDUCAUSE Higher Education Information Security Committee since 2001 and presents at national conferences.

Tammy is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a certified Information Security Management Systems Consultant/Auditor (ISO 27001), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), a certified Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP), Information Technology infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations certified, and earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in MIS and Accounting from Cal State University, San Bernardino, California.
